For instructors

Teach valuation from real filings.

A free valuation engine, 17 free courses and 48 worked valuations, all built on companies' own SEC filings. Your students work in a browser with nothing to install, and you get their results as a spreadsheet.

What your class gets, free

  • The valuation engine. A discounted cash flow, comparable companies and a leveraged buyout, built from a company's own filings and live prices, with every assumption labelled by where it came from.
  • 17 courses, from reading a 10-K to terminal value. Each has checks that must be passed and ends in a free completion record anyone can verify. Browse the courses.
  • 48 worked valuations of well-known companies, published in full, so a student can check a model against a finished one. See them.

How a class uses it

  1. Assign a course

Send the link to any course, for example valuatio.co/learn/dcf. Reading is open to anyone; answering the checks needs a free account.

  2. Students finish it

A course completed at 60% or better earns a free completion record, with an ID such as VLC-XXXXXXXXXXXX and a public page that proves it.

  3. They send you their IDs

By email, a form or your learning platform. Handing you the ID is the consent: it only opens a page that is already public.

  4. Paste them below

You get a table and a CSV file: holder, course, score, checks and date, taken from the public verification pages.

Class results

Paste the IDs your students sent you and get a table, and a CSV for your gradebook. There is no class to set up and nothing to sign in to.

One per line, or paste any text that contains them, up to 400.

Each ID is looked up on its public verification page, exactly as a recruiter would. The list itself stays in your browser.

The assessment, for a class

The Verified Valuation Assessment is two timed drills, a DCF from a filing in 45 minutes and a paper LBO in 20, graded by the same engine the courses use. For one person it is a one-time purchase; see the price.

For a whole class, tell us the course and roughly how many students, and we will work out something sensible before you commit to anything. There is no class pricing yet, because nobody has asked. You would be the first.

Before you rely on it

VALUATIO is an independent training product. It is not accredited, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a pathway to the CFA Institute or any professional body. The assessment is our own assessment of our own curriculum, and the Candidate Handbook sets out exactly what it does and does not claim.

Talk to the person who built it

Asgar Aslanli built VALUATIO and reads this address: asgar@valuatio.co. Say what you teach and what you would want from it, and you will get a straight answer.
